The Benefits of Team building
Team building provides an excellent opportunity for team members to interact outside the typical work setting. At New Vine Counseling we have developed a unique way for employees to engage with one another. We utilize horses to engage employees while fostering a stronger interpersonal connection. As team members get to know each other beyond their roles, trust and empathy are built, creating a more supportive and cooperative work environment.
Improving Communication Skills
Effective communication is the backbone of any successful team. During team building, participants engage in evidenced based communication-focused activities that enhance their ability to communicate clearly. Participants utilize verbal communication, non-verbal communication, active listening, and reflective listening to help strengthen communication skills. Horses are highly sensitive to non-verbal stimulus. They're experts at reading the most subtle behaviors and body language of people- posture and expressions, determination and emotional charge. Strengthening communication skills minimizes misunderstandings, improves collaboration, and ensures that all team members are on the same page.
Fostering Collaboration and Problem-Solving Skills
Horses are 100% honest 100% of the time! Using horses during problem-solving activities requires participants to work together to find solutions. Problem-solving exercises encourage collaboration, innovative thinking, and effective decision-making. At New Vine Counseling, we use horses to help team members learn to rely on each other's strengths. As team members learn to rely on others, they become better equipped to tackle challenges within the organization effectively.
Reduce Burnout and Stress
Work can be emotionally demanding which often leads to burnout and stress. At New Vine Counseling, we provide a much needed break from daily grind, which allows employees to recharge, relax and refocus. We offer a chance for team members to bond and enjoy time together fostering a sense of camaraderie.
Encouraging Leadership Development
Team building will help identify and nurture leaders within the organization. The horse's herd mentality offers powerful leadership lessons. A horse will respect a herd leader who demonstrates awareness, fairness (consistency) and respect guiding towards a goal. Horses will challenge a leader who is vague, confusing or lacking commitment to the good of the group.
